The Personal Development Center is a *501(c)(3) non-profit corporation providing internal and external techniques, which over the past two decades have proven to increase individual productivity, enhance mental and physical health, and create a more positive work and home environment. The techniques are beneficial to everyone and therefore made available to all who wish to learn, without regard to their ability to pay for classes.
The techniques utilized are the result of more than thirty years of study in Eastern and Western philosophy combined with more than twenty five years in the practice of non-competitive, traditional martial arts training.
The services offered at the Personal Development Center are suited to all individuals, regardless of age, gender, or current physical health. We would be happy to arrange a short demonstration of just how simple and effective the training can be.
The first thing a person, new to the Personal Development Center, should understand is some of the terminology used at our center.
Holisticis a term used to describe our approach. Rather than focusing on a single area of development, we strengthen the entire individual by offering classes that address mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. We are an inter-faith environment and assist students in learning how their beliefs dictate their actions, rather than on how one should believe.
Sensei is a term you may hear many people use at the center to address the founder of the center, M.L. Cerpok. It is a Japanese title that, while romanticized by some, simply translates to teacher. Of course, there are other people here at the center who refer to him as Mr. Cerpok. ChiDoKai translates to "gathered in the study of true understanding" and is used to describe our goal. Too often, people will cease their quest for personal development after a rudimentary understanding is gained. However, a true understanding is required for our development to withstand the test of time.
Please contact us for more information or to arrange for a tour of our center.
*The Personal Development Center is awaiting final designation of their 501(c)3 status.
The ChiDoKai Personal Development Center supports the Will Breathe For Peace campaign and hosted the first event on Monday, January 21st, 2008.
The Will Breathe For Peace campaign is not politically motivated, and is not in response to any particular military action. It is, rather, based upon the belief that by cultivating each individual's inner peace, we can realize peace on earth. We hope you will join us in peace.
The Gentle Ravings of an Egomaniacal Master by M.L. Cerpok
Our lives do not need to be seen as riddled with mystery and esoteric concepts. Rather, life should be experienced simply as it flows naturally towards resolution. It is we, as participants, who create disruption through our expectations and through pre-conceived notions of what life should be. In so doing, we often miss the most satisfying moments of our lives. The Gentle Ravings of an Egomaniacal Master provides the initial steps towards developing the awareness to recognize opportunities for growth in our lives, as well as the strength and wisdom to act upon that recognition.
